Whether you are arranging for a repatriation from the UK to overseas, or vice versa, transportation across international borders adds a level of complexity to the process.
With more than thirty years repatriation experience, we are familiar with all the forms, certificates and permits that are required. We take care of all documentation as part of our repatriation services including those elements that have to be translated.
Some destinations require a copy of the Death Certificate to be legalised. This has to be done by the public in Milton Keynes.
Mears and Jackson Funeral Directors is allowed, as an approved Company, to do this in London. There is however a charge of £170.00 for this to be done. This charge is outweighed by the inconvenience of travelling to Milton Keynes.
We will apply for the Coroners Out of England Certificate and issue an Embalming Certificate to allow transportation.
Passports and ID cards
It is desirable for us to have the original passport or ID of the Deceased. Or a copy if available. But, this is not always required so don't worry if you are not able to find it.
Additionally an expired passport is usually not a hindrance to the repatriation and a simple affidavit from relatives can circumnavigate any problems. This is is a written statement, made on oath or affirmation, about facts that are personally known to the person making the affidavit. It is carried out in front of a Commissioner for Oaths or solicitor, and we will advise of layout and wording.
